Climb Scafell Pike
The highest mountain in England at 978m. An achievement for anyone as a standalone peak. Or tackle it as part of the 3 peaks challenge (alongside Ben Nevis in Scotland, and Snowdon in Wales), or a lifetime mission to summit all 214 Wainwrights.
Choose your approach. The shortest but also steepest is from Wasdale Head in the west. Many journey from Seathwaite at the head of Borrowdale to the north, approaching via Styhead Tarn and the famous Corridor Route. Or from Langdale in the east. Camp out at Styhead Tarn
A night out in the remote Lakeland fells. Styhead Tarn is a beautiful spot to pitch your tent and enjoy the sunset. The Lakes are famous for their rainfall, but this means a plentiful supply in the stream filling the tarn! But get there early as the best spots may be taken. If so, the nearby Sprinkling Tarn is also a great option for camping.
